MindRise and eligibility

These terms cover MindRise's web wellness app, Ara AI coaching and optional Friends service, operated by Blackforge AS, Norwegian organisation number 937 768 532, at Fjogstadvegen 32, 4350 Kleppe, Norway. Contact [email protected].

Guest wellness content is for people aged 13 and over, with any parental permission required by law. Creating a MindRise web account, using Friends or joining the partner program requires you to be at least 18. Provide accurate account information and protect your sign-in credentials.

What the web app provides

MindRise combines affirmations, calming audio, audiobooks, journaling, breathing, recordings, reflections and AI coaching. Some features require a subscription, supported browser, microphone permission or connectivity.

Web reminders are best effort notifications. They are not guaranteed wake alarms, may be delayed or suppressed by device settings, and do not override silent mode or Focus. Background playback depends on browser and operating system support. Offline access is limited to cached permitted content. Browser storage may be evicted.

Free access, Premium and the trial

Premium costs $9.99 USD per month, plus applicable tax displayed at checkout. A new eligible customer can start a 14-day trial through hosted checkout with a payment method. Checkout must show the amount, renewal date and recurring billing terms before acceptance.

The trial begins from the verified provider subscription record. Unless you cancel before its displayed expiry, it converts to the monthly subscription. The trial does not provide unlimited AI: the free sample includes 10 lifetime text requests and five lifetime voice minutes. Clearing browser storage does not restart the trial or allowances.

Paid Premium permits up to 60 voice coaching minutes per UTC calendar month and up to 500 text requests per UTC day. These are maximum usage limits, not separate guaranteed allocations: text, generated speech and voice share a monthly AI allowance, whose remaining percentage is shown in Account. The shared allowance can be exhausted before either maximum. Each voice session is limited to 15 minutes and the available allowance. The allowance renews at the next UTC calendar month; unused allowance does not roll over. Reservations account conservatively for provider costs, including interrupted or ambiguous requests. A text reply and generated read-aloud speech each consume a request. Additional packs, when offered, display their price and allowance before purchase.

A voice session temporarily reserves its available duration. When MindRise confirms that the session has ended, unused reserved time is returned using server-measured elapsed time. An interrupted connection may retain the reservation until the server confirms closure. Provider outages or a server recovery can interrupt a session or delay closure; this is not a guarantee of an exact provider disconnect time under every failure.

Feature access, expiry and usage are determined by verified server records. Current allowance information is shown in Account. Service interruptions must not create false purchases, duplicate benefits or fabricated remaining balances.

Billing, cancellation and refunds

Stripe provides new web checkout, subscription collection, invoices and the customer billing portal when activated. Manage or cancel your web subscription from Account. Cancelling stops future renewals and normally retains access through the current trial or paid period, unless the provider records an immediate refund or revocation. Existing subscriptions with a different provider remain governed by their original billing relationship.

Checkout totals, applicable taxes, renewal dates and provider terms govern the purchase. Contact [email protected] for billing problems or refund requests. Refund handling follows provider procedures and mandatory consumer rights. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Earlier Apple or Google subscriptions remain separate. Cancel them with the original store; a web signup or account deletion must not be assumed to cancel a store purchase. Avoid duplicate subscriptions when migrating.

AI coaching

Ara is an AI system for reflection and general wellness support. It is not a clinician, therapist, emergency service or substitute for professional advice. Responses may be inaccurate. Do not rely on Ara for urgent medical or safety decisions.

We may limit abusive or automated usage, concurrent sessions or input size to keep the service available. Provider outages and security or spending circuit breakers can interrupt AI availability. We do not promise unlimited AI usage or uninterrupted voice sessions.

Your content and privacy

You retain rights to content you create. You authorize the processing needed to store, sync, deliver and moderate that content and to perform AI requests you choose. Publicly or socially shared content reaches its intended audience; private wellness content is not partner sales data.

Browser-only unsynced content can be lost. See the Privacy Policy for processors, storage, export, deletion and backup retention.

Friends and community rules

Friends requires confirmation that you are 18 or older. Do not harass, exploit, threaten, impersonate or share illegal or non-consensual content. Reporting, blocking, moderation and account restrictions apply. Moderators may review reported content and remove content or restrict accounts.

Live calling is not included until it is explicitly enabled and supported. Do not use another person's identity or evade account restrictions.

Acceptable use and intellectual property

Do not bypass billing or usage controls, share account credentials, attack services, scrape private data, spam users or redistribute licensed audio. MindRise artwork, software and licensed content remain protected by their respective owners. Use the service for your own permitted activities.

Export, deletion and changes

Account provides data export and deletion controls. Deletion can require provider cancellation and identity revocation; failed provider operations must be shown as incomplete and retryable. For older native Friends accounts, use Delete my Friends account or contact support.

Material changes affecting subscription prices or your rights will be communicated before taking effect as required by law. Existing transactions and mandatory consumer rights remain protected.

Responsibility and disputes

Use reminders and wellness tools within their stated limitations. We do not exclude liability or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Contact [email protected] first to resolve issues. Mandatory consumer protections and access to competent courts or dispute resolution bodies remain available.

Partner program

Separate partner terms explain referral eligibility, the fixed 40% recurring commission on collected subscription revenue after discounts and excluding sales tax, refunded amounts and amounts held for active payment disputes, payout holding periods and prohibited promotion. AI costs, payment processing costs and an operating reserve are not separately deducted from earned commission. Initial partner payouts are manual operator-approved payments; a prepared payout record does not mean money was sent. Joining the program does not authorize access to customer wellness data.
